Good times!

I just got home from my writing group, full of encouragement but too tired to write tonight. Our group is pretty simple – four women who love to write and love to laugh. We share our work and our woes and give each other the firm push we need to keep going. Thanks gals!

Before I head to bed, however, I do need to tell you some great news and a funny story.

The great news is that one of our group, Meghan Marentette, has finished her final edits and her book is almost ready to go to print!

A family adventure turns into a dangerous rescue mission as a young mouse searches for his missing grandfather.

The Stowaways, is a middle-grade novel and will be published by Pajama Press with sales beginning in September. So exciting!

The other tidbit is this:

We were sitting around at the start of our gathering when one of the group’s phone rang. We were able to hear the high sweet voice of one of her daughters through the line. This is the side of the conversation we heard.

“No, I won’t be home until later…  … Well, you just go to bed and when I get home I’ll come in and kiss you goodnight…   … You’ll be asleep…  … I love you too.”

She put away her phone and said, “She was crying.”

“Ahhh… how sweet,” we all chimed.

Then my friend said, “I don’t even know which one that was.”

Awesome Mom moment! I’ll be laughing about that one for days.

  2. Meghan! Wow! I went to Dalhousie with Meghan many, MANY years ago. She may not remember me, as my name was different…but please tell her that I said ‘hi’ and congrats! 🙂

Bahahaha – it’s even funnier now!
    Good times, good times…
